Individuals throughout Massachusetts are increasingly aware of the health and wellness benefits associated with the use of cannabis and cannabinoids. While the goals of recreational or medical marijuana users are often different, knowing how to choose the right products at a dispensary is essential.
Temescal Wellness dispensaries offer both medical marijuana and recreational cannabis products. When shopping in person or online, our staff is available to assist with answers to questions or to make suggestions based on your goals. If you cannot come into the dispensary, there are some simple ways to understand how to read a dispensary menu and choose the best products.
Formulation or Product Type
Consider your comfort level with using different formulations or product types. For example, flower is traditional for smoking or dry flower vaping, while concentrates are more commonly used for dabbing or combining with flower. Edibles are consumed as needed and offer a delicious option. Tinctures are liquid formulations taken sublingually (under the tongue) or added to food or beverages. Topicals, as the name suggests, are applied to the skin. Vape carts or pens are an alternative to smoking medical marijuana flower and come pre-measured and ready to use.
Stains and THC Content
There are three categories of strains or types of marijuana. These include Sativa, Indica, and Hybrid strains. Sativa tends to energize and uplift, while Indica strains tend to relax and calm the mind. Hybrids can create a balance or have effects like either Indica or Sativa.
Next, consider the THC content or the chemotype. This can be high THC and low or no CBD, THC and CBD combined, or high CBD content. High THC produces more psychoactive effects, combined THC and CBD produce milder “highs” with increased wellness effects, while high CBD strains produce limited psychoactive effects with enhanced wellness benefits.
Take the time to read the description on the product page at Temescal Wellness. We provide information on the product, the effects, THC, and the cannabinoids present in each product to help you make an informed decision.
