Concentrates are a result of extraction from the cannabis plant through different methods.

There’s a science behind its creation and its effects.

Did you know that a cannabis plant is made up of many compounds that are extracted to produce different products for consumption?

Concentrates are a result of extraction from the cannabis plant through different methods. Based on the extraction technique and its resulting consistency, there are four types of concentrates that go by a number of terms, but most commonly known as: shatter, sugar, wax and live resin. (All of which we produce at Temescal and can be purchased in any of our dispensaries, by the way)

Cannabis concentrates are processed in a way that captures and preserves the valuable compounds like cannabinoids and terpenes of the plant. The combination of cannabinoids, terpenes and flavonoids or aromas are what determine the effects that you experience. The different extraction methods all result in a strong substance in its most concentrated form (hence the name) that provide unique benefits.

Concentrates are known for their:

  • High potency
  • Therapeutic effects
  • Fast onset time
  • Duration -, depending on the person and their tolerance.
Comparing concentrates

Although extraction techniques have evolved over time, this form of cannabis has become a popular way for cannabis connoisseurs to consume over the last decade. And, if we had to guess, it’s probably because of their higher tolerance and wanting something stronger than the traditional flower.
