I visited Temescal Wellness of Pittsfield, Massachusetts. Here’s a recap of my experience.

Berkshire Recreational:

If you’re looking for a cannabis dispensary in the Berkshires of Massachusetts, you have to visit Temescal Wellness in Pittsfield. I was planning to spend the weekend in western Mass, and was searching for a dispensary near me, when I came across this medical and recreational marijuana shop. I had such a great experience, I felt compelled to share how it went!

Recreational and Medical Cannabis in the Berkshires: 

I visited Temescal Wellness of Pittsfield, located at 10 Callahan Drive, Pittsfield, MA 01201. Immediately I was struck by the cleanliness and organization of the dispensary, followed by the friendly, welcoming faces of Rob and Kadeem. While I was there, they were hosting a pop-up event with Cheeba Chews, so I headed over to learn a little about the yummy cannabis-infused gummies, while subtly, not so subtly jamming out to Fall Out Boy. The staff shared Temescal Wellness frequently hosts pop-up events with a variety of vendors. I love that they work to introduce their customers to these brands and support the cannabis products they specialize in. 

Over at the rec counter, I explained I was interested in purchasing flower and a vape cartridge. Their selection was awesome, to say the least. Not only did they have all the flower and vape options I could think of, but also carried pre-rolls, edibles, tinctures, concentrates, and some of the coolest accessories I’ve seen in a while. It was easy to make a decision once learning about their promos. Kadeem recommended one of their exclusive bundle offers which was a mix and match of different strains of Perch Flower, and I would save when I got 2 or more. As a recreational customer, I was excited! Bundles and price drops aren’t common; what an awesome way to keep customers coming back. All three Temescal Wellness dispensaries in Massachusetts carry these bundles so I highly recommend stopping at one of their locations in Pittsfield, Hudson, or Framingham to see what they are offering. (I can’t forget to mention I had to pick up one of the Big Papi Slugger PRJ they suggested - go Sox!)

Things To Do In Pittsfield, Massachusetts:

Since I was spending the weekend there, I had to ask the locals for some recommendations before heading out! The Rob suggested visiting the local Pittsfield brewery, Hot Plate Brewing Co. Just a few weeks prior, Temescal Wellness had sponsored a karaoke night to raise money for Berkshire Pride (love that) and mentioned they had a great selection of craft beers. Well, they do! My friend and I also enjoyed some BBQ from Biggins Diggins’ food truck outside. Later that evening we swung by Misty’s Diner, a super cool retro spot suggested by Meg. 

I wanted to ensure we spent as much time in the gorgeous western Mass terrain as possible, and I was encouraged to visit Mount Greylock - the highest point in Massachusetts! The lakeside of the Pittsfield State Forest was breathtaking; we took some amazing photos at Lake Onota. We weren’t able to make it to Tanglewood, but that will be a priority on our next trip. 

If you’re into art, the Berkshires is the place to be. I already had the Massachusetts Museum of Contemporary Arts (MASS MoCA) on my radar, but knowing it was a drive to North Adams, I asked if there was anything close to Pittsfield, MA worth visiting. Again, Temescal Wellness employees were so helpful. They pointed me to three museums in the area: 

• Berkshire Museum in Pittsfield, MA
• Herman Melville’s Arrowhead in Pittsfield, MA (yes, the author of Moby Dick).
• Norman Rockwell Museum in Stockbridge, MA (just a quick drive away from the Pittsfield dispensary and home to the world’s largest collection of Norma Rockwell originals). 

My overall experience at Temescal Wellness in Pittsfield:

Overall, I can’t wait to be back and will 100% be visiting the other dispensary in Framingham or Temescal Wellness in Hudson if I’m in the area. I really appreciated the information provided by the staff here. They all seemed really educated on the industry and genuinely wanted to help guide me in the right direction — whether it was specific to cannabis or to make the most of my time here. Thank you for showing such patience and kindness, and really creating an atmosphere that made me feel welcomed!
