If you’re new to the world of medical or recreational cannabis, your first visit to a Massachusetts dispensary can be intimidating and even a little confusing. Let us help you make it a smooth process, so you can focus on improving your everyday life with some plant-based options — and no hassle.
As we settle into the new year, it’s time to bring it back to basics when it comes to leading a happier, healthier life. Prioritizing recovery and revival is key in meeting our goals for 2022, and we can’t think of a better way to get started than to become a medical patient in the great state of Grassachusetts!
Here’s what you can expect on your first visit to any of our Massachusetts cannabis dispensaries.
How to order
First, visit the online menu that’s specific to the store location you plan to visit — in Framingham, Hudson, or Pittsfield. Choose between recreational or medical menus, which offer different products depending on available items. Our Massachusetts medical patients have additional access to certain medical products such as topicals (including lotions, balms, and oils). We strongly encourage checking out our menus ahead of time. It may help to browse and get familiar with what’s available before stopping by. If you’re unsure where to start, our associates are happy to help make recommendations or help you make decisions on what to buy based on your needs or intended activities.
We strive to make it convenient for you to visit us, but don’t forget to check our hours of operation!
There are also limits for how much product recreational and medical guests can buy at one time when they visit: For recreational guests, Massachusetts law permits the purchase of up to one ounce of flower or five grams of concentrate at a time. You can purchase up to 500 milligrams of edibles per day, about 5 packages.
Medical patients have a rolling allotment and can purchase and possess up to a 60-day supply as prescribed by their doctor to a maximum of ten ounces.
Currently, we don’t offer delivery services or a curbside pickup option, so if you’d like to speed up the in-store process, we suggest you place an order online ahead of time. For first time guests, we suggest coming in to learn about our products from our team of patient service associates (PSAs), who are here to help pair you with the cannabis products that are the best fit for you. They’re happy to make suggestions!
Preparing for your visit
You’ll need to show your ID upon arrival to any of our stores. For rec guests, you must be at least 21 years of age with a valid state-issued photo identification, such as a driver’s license, passport, or military ID. For medical guests, we also ask to see your state-issued MA Program ID card. Only patients with valid MA Program ID cards will be able to purchase from our medical menus, so don’t forget it!
We accept multiple forms of payment, including cash, debit cards, and CanPay.
If you’re left wondering, “Why can’t I buy cannabis with my credit card?” look to the limitations of the federal government for your answer. In their eyes, because cannabis is not legal under federal law, any financial institution that accepts deposits from the sale of cannabis or extends credit to consumers for the purchase of cannabis is “aiding and abetting” a federal crime.
Process of picking up
It’s important to our team that we create a welcoming space in stores, especially if you’re navigating the world of cannabis for the first time. Our PSA’s are friendly, hospitable experts with a mission to provide education and assistance to every guest to find the best products to fit their lifestyle and needs. When you leave your local Temescal Wellness cannabis dispensary, not only will you be equipped with the products and tools that you need, but also the information you need to feel confident and comfortable.
This video helps further explain the process of picking up an order if you’ve placed it online in advance.
