Temescal Wellness Was First To Declare 4/20 A Paid Holiday

At Temescal Wellness, we believe that 4/20 is for the people! 

That’s why we are once again designating April 20 (4/20) as a paid holiday for all team members at our dispensary locations in Massachusetts and production facilities, giving the entire team a paid day off. 

Here’s what our Director of Retail and Customer Engagement, Sian Leininger, has to say about the program. (And yes, it was her idea!) 

"The feedback from our employees was overwhelmingly positive, and we saw a large volume of job candidates mention in their interview process that they were seeking employment with Temescal Wellness with this paid holiday in mind.  We have heard from a number of vendors and partners of their plans to suggest their companies follow suit in 2024. We think we’ve got the start of a movement on our hands, and we’re so happy to think of how this will enable more of the people that work in cannabis to enjoy the day themselves." 

"Some have questioned our strategy of closing on one of the most profitable days of the year. Yes, we lost a day of sales. But the number of people that visited our retail locations before and after the holiday, saying they did so specifically because of how we care about our employees, was huge. Our team members are our first priority every day, so we’re proud to have been the first to declare 4/20 a paid holiday for them. "

We are dedicated to removing the stigma around cannabis consumption.
